Dad
Dad,
I just wanted to stop by and let you know how much I appreciate you and all that you do for me. I can’t tell you how much I value being able to call you and ask you about any technical issues I’m having. Thank you for always being willing to come to my house to fix broken lights and faulty toilets. I love how thoughtful you are when I come home to find that you’ve mowed my lawn for me. I always tell Grams you’re going to get me evicted if I don’t keep up my end of the work, but we both appreciate you and all that you do for us.
Thank you for being such a great example to us girls growing up. You taught us the value of hard work, and you showed us how beautiful a yard can be when taken care of properly. I clearly didn’t inherit your green thumb, but I hope to work on that some day.
Now that I think about it, I didn’t inherit your smarts or your way with words either, but one thing I did get was your chin dimple.
Happy Fathers Day.
I love you dad.
Just want you to know that.
PS you still can’t have Ollie. He’s mine.
You can borrow him though.
Xoxo

Aww, that is pretty sweet to say about your ole Dad. He does read your blog, just not as often as I do. He has been a great example to all you girls to the best of his ability. He is very smart when it comes to fixing anything and I am really grateful for his intelligence and patience. You all have a very awesome Dad and I am proud to say that he is my husband, and that I have four beautiful daughters that mean the world to me.
He really is all those things you said. Hard working, smart, has a way with words-he is very funny! I saw him for 2 seconds tonight at work but didn’t get a chance to talk to him and tell him Happy Father’s Day.
And I’d like to say that I appreciate his twisted sense of humor. Without it, he’d be just a big scary man.
Your dad is a crack up Aub! I always enjoyed when he would ask me “When are you going home?” when I would hang out with Ashley. I knew he totally wasn’t kidding and it made me laugh! ha ha! But I’m puzzled about one thing….how in the world do you know your dad has a dimple chin….I have never seen his chin!!! lol.
I saw it once – a long time ago. When you’re used to having a dad with a full beard and he walks in with only a mustache it’s not something you’re quick to forget! I think I have a picture of him like this from when I was a baby as well. I will look for it and hope he doesn’t disown me for sharing it. Also the only way mom could console me when my sisters would tell me I have a butt chin was to tell me dad has one as well. I just don’t think I want to grow a beard to cover mine.
Dad would tell you to go home?! That’s hilarious. Well, he does the same to me! But mostly he just makes fun of Kevin and tries to run off with my dog.
I see that I am only 9 months late on this.lol Gramp Evans passed on his chin dimple to the special ones. I have it too. lol Your dad continues the legacy, by restoring and maintaining everything gramp E. worked so hard for. Aub, we are both fortunate to have such great dad’s that both lived in and loved the same home.
