It sounds like you guys had a blast on your trip. It kinda makes me
want another dog, but I swore when he died I would never get another
one. I may reconsider.

The salt flats always make me miss the beach. It's cool to drive by because it just looks like sand, don't quite so much like the smell when you get close to the lake though. But it looks like you had some fun!

Your puppy is so cute! Yea it's nice to see someone else writing about theirs. The funny thing to me is people call our dogs mutts, but the ones you buy in pet stores are designer dogs with the same mixed breeds.

I didn't even realize that it might look like a beach. To be honest I've never even seen the beach...but this was probably close enough (a beach of salt that is). They make that Mortin Salt here because of all of it.

Hey Katy, thanks for commenting! it's actually not a beach, its a huge salt flat in Utah. Looks like a beach though, doesn't it? It's right next to a lake so there are little pools of water everywhere. Sometimes the salt is a murky brown, but we were lucky and caught it on a day when it was all white. Trust me, it was all I could do to even keep my eyes half open.

Here's a little info on how its created:
The Bonneville Salt Flats and the Great Salt Lake are remnants of ancient Lake Bonneville. Wind and water combine to create the flat surface of salt. Each winter, a shallow layer of standing water floods the surface of the salt flats. During spring and summer, the water slowly evaporates while winds smooth the surface into a vast, nearly perfect flat plain.
